Breeder/s:   Mitch and Maria White - Gamekeeper's Retrievers, Ohio; Sandy Muer

Sire:        Am/Can/Int CH Grousemoor Jam Dandy JH CDX AX OAJ RN WCX HOF "Dugan"

Dam:       CH Destiny Up In The Air JH WCX  "Skye" (breeders)

Owner:      Jennifer Stepp, co-owned with Maria White

Conformational Qualities:

Maia is maturing, slowly but surely, into a lovely girl. Her overall outline is very correct and pleasing, with great depth of chest and length of rib. Her front and rear structures are very sound and strong and she has nice tight feet. Her head is quite pleasing, with a great earset and near-perfect eye placement, shape, and color. She has decent shoulder layback but could use a little more rear angulation. We think she resembles her Mom Skye quite a bit thus far in overall type. Most certainly at that awkward adolescent stage, but her qualities seem to be quite consistent with each stage of growth.

Temperament:

Maia is a confident, playful, silly puppy. I like to call her our little 'Drama Queen' as she goes about even the most mundane of events with such exuberance. She is very affectionate and loves attention. She adores people like any regular Flat-Coat, and also her 'sister' Zoey. She is fascinated with everything, and Andy has dubbed her 'Gamekeeper's Wonderin' About Sebmn'. She is a fun girl that keeps us on our toes and we're looking forward to the years to come with her.

Maia has been to just a few weekends of conformation shows thus far, to get a little practice for the future. She did well, taking Reserve Winners Bitch 3 of the 4 total shows at 6 and 9 months, but we have a way to go in practice and maturity before we seriously campaign for her championship. Maia has started her basic obedience class and she is doing very well, learning quickly and with good attention. We are currently deciding what to pursue first with her; i.e. obedience, conformation, field, or agility next year. Check back for updates and new pictures!
